“Last year we saw an emerging business, in a challenging industry be highlighted above everyone else for exceptional vision and business practice. The awards program has the ability to recognise our pillar organisations, as well as those from start-up or small to medium enterprise.”
A new search for excellence in business is on its way, as Bendigo Advertiser, Be.Bendigo and twenty other Category Sponsors and Partners celebrate the 25th annual Bendigo Business Excellence Awards with the 2018 Gala scheduled for Friday 1st June.
The 2018 program for emerging and established business leaders is set to reach new heights as it again recognises the tremendous achievements of our local businesses – from each industry sector.
Newly appointed Be.Bendigo CEO, Dennis Bice is looking forward to Be.Bendigo delivering the program for a third year, with excitement to see how business is shaping across the region.
“The program is a tremendous asset for us to recognise the Bendigo business community. The strength of the commitment from Bendigo businesses in contributing to our regional economy sees Bendigo rank as the third largest in Victoria” said Mr Bice.
Speaking about the 2017 Bendigo Business of the Year Winner, retail business Frankie & Co, Mr Bice said, “Last year we saw an emerging business, in a challenging industry be highlighted above everyone else for exceptional vision and business practice. The awards program has the ability to recognise our pillar organisations, as well as those from start-up or small to medium enterprise.”
The 2017 Winner of Bendigo’s Best New Business, owner of Frankie & Co Paige Davies said, “What an incredible opportunity it was to pause and reflect on the journey of Frankie and Co Clothing. You can often get swept up in the whirlwind and the day-to-day operation of business and fail to see the growth and impact you are making – taking time to complete the award application was a truly reflective experience and an opportunity to map out future direction and reaffirm business goals.”
This year, the program will see the introduction of two new award categories with each award sponsored by an industry partner, whose contribution sees the program run each year.
In March, the application period will commence, following the launch on Tuesday 6 March. The 2018 program is set to allow businesses to immediately apply for a category award – except for the People’s Choice Award, where nominations will still be taken.
Throughout the program businesses will be again be able to take part in a series of business development workshops and events, which will showcase opportunities to learn from industry leaders. Workshops will take place across Bendigo, with various times and dates to be announced, which will aim to be accessible for any businessperson, no matter what your business.
The search for winners culminates at the prestigious annual awards ceremony and is a highlight on the Be.Bendigo and business community calendar. Finalists and guests can look forward to a great venue, good food, entertainment and the very best company and networking as the winner’s are announced.
Mr Bice welcomes Bendigo businesses to take up the opportunity and put in an application, “Making it to the short-list is an achievement in itself and I look forward to welcoming all our finalists to a wonderful evening.”
