The Gold Mines Hotel is a historic gem in Bendigo that dates back to 1861! Initially established to serve the Ironbark community, David Chaplin Sterry built our current charming double-storey stucco brick building in 1872.
A special piece of our history is Amy’s great-grandmother, Mary Jane Russell, who made her mark as the only licensee to run the hotel outside the Sterry family from 1910 to 1918. Today, we are thrilled to carry on that legacy.
As a local family, we are dedicated to crafting a warm and inviting environment where you can enjoy exceptional food, beverages, and service. The Gold Mines Hotel is the ideal venue for a wide range of events, from small gatherings to large functions.
The Gold Mines Hotel pays tribute to the talented and committed individuals who continue to lend their expertise in our restaurant and supply us with delightful goods.
