Balgownie Estate was established in 1969 outside Bendigo, about two hours northwest of Melbourne. Legendary winemaker Stuart Anderson planted Shiraz, Cabernet and Chardonnay in the arm Central Victoria climate and forged an enviable reputation for the quality of the wines produced. Of special note were the Estate Shiraz and Estate Cabernet which won plaudits for their depth of flavour, richness and their capacity to age in the bottle. In 2017, the Bendigo Estate underwent a refurbishment of the Cellar Door which was converted to house a Restaurant and Alfresco dining area, the original Homestead was converted into 7 contemporary styled suites with a communal kitchenette and living area and 15 Glamping Tents were installed in the property. We also offer spaces and cater for small conferences and events.
