VIC Government Housing Statement
Recently, I met with Jeroen Weimar to discuss a number of planning and land reforms as part of the Government’s Housing Statement.
This was an opportunity to provide feedback regarding current local challenges faced across Greater Bendigo.
The five key actions expected to be made public prior to December are:
- The next tranche of government-owned sites to market
- Next investment in social housing finalised
- Next phase of building reform
- Plan for Victoria released
- Next phase of greenfields forward program.
Clearly, much needs to happen to deliver on the Vic Government’s target of 800,000 new homes over the next decade, which will require the right conditions to stimulate investment for projects, skills and training.
