What happened in July at Be.Bendigo? Our monthly recap.

July was a dynamic and productive month for us at Be.Bendigo. Here’s a recap of what we’ve been up to:

Bendigo Business Excellence Awards
We kicked off the month by announcing and celebrating the 2024 finalists of the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards on July 2 at Mackenzie Quarters. Joined by our category sponsors, we recognised the incredible talent in our community. The judges conducted in-person interviews with each finalist, marking the final phase of the judging process. With record ticket sales, over 700 attendees will gather at the Red Energy Arena on August 15 for a spectacular evening celebrating the best in Bendigo business.

Bendigo Business Stories Podcast – New Season
We are excited to announce that work on Season 4 of the Bendigo Business Stories podcast is underway! Stay tuned for next month’s update, where we’ll reveal our new sponsor and share more details. Have any guesses about the next theme?

Tender Essentials Workshop
In July, we hosted an interactive full-day Tender Essentials Workshop, covering critical best practices for businesses navigating the tender process. If you missed it, don’t worry—another workshop is on the horizon. Keep an eye out for registration details!

Social Procurement Expo
Rob Herbert, our CEO, and Tiffany, our Member Marketing Manager, represented Be.Bendigo at the Social Procurement Expo at Red Energy Arena. They had a fantastic time meeting new faces and catching up with our valued partners and members.

Community News Page Launch
We are thrilled to have launched our new “Community News” page on the website! This dedicated space will showcase events, blogs, offers, and much more from our partners and members. Be sure to check it out and stay connected with what’s happening in our community.

Welcoming Sophie
We were delighted to host Sophie for a week of work experience, organised by Goldfield LLEN. Our team enjoyed sharing insights into Be.Bendigo’s role in supporting the local business community. Sophie was a great help, contributing to social media content creation and event planning. Thanks for your hard work, Sophie!

Podcast Releases
This month, we released two new episodes from Season 3 of our podcast. If you haven’t listened yet, catch up on “Taking care of your people: A key to success” with Rory Somerville from Ray White Bendigo, and “Attracting staff members” with Pam Macdonald from Broadspring Consulting. We have been busy reading through the feedback from our recent engagement survey and will be sharing an update with you very soon.
